Filipino Cuisine
Whenever someone asks me to identify a dish that is uniquely Filipino, I find it difficult to find a single dish response as the cuisine itself is a fusion of many culinary styles.
Personally, I love almost all of them – from a simple adobo recipe that’s been a staple of almost every Pinoy household to the rich and unique flavor profile of Kare-Kare. Every recipe has something that appeals to someone’s palette.
It is influenced by flavors from Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and Spain. This diversity makes Filipino food a fusion food and as such, no one dish can truly embody the cultural richness of our cuisine.
This blog is an attempt to showcase to the world authentic Filipino, as well as some fusion recipes – kitchen-tested by me in my kitchen in Queens, NY. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
